Some people make the choice to freelance because they love what they do and going at it alone offers them a more flexible lifestyle. Others might feel tied down in a 9-5 situation, have multiple talents that's not being fully utilized in their job, or just want to reduce the amount of stress that comes with a typical workday. Freelancing can involve both self employment and contract employment, so it might be ideal for both your career goals and your lifestyle goals. In addition to flexibility, you have no boss breathing down your back when you don't get the job done fast enough or well enough.

I've written for many sources over the years, so it only made sense to go through the process of becoming a freelancer. Freelance writing can pay quite nicely and I get to choose my own hours. It may sound exhausting, but in reality there are plenty of moments during which I'm free to do other activities while still making money that I'd normally have had to work full-time to make. Definitely something that's worth exploring if you're looking into how your life might be different!

Information to include in the answer: Why do you want to become a freelancer? If you don't enjoy what you're doing, no matter how much money is offered, it's not worth it. You should avoid becoming a freelancer because you won't be happy. If this is something that interests you but has always seemed out of your reach based on finances or there just isn't any jobs available where you usually work, then the best thing to do would be find ways to save money so that when an opportunity arises there'll be enough set aside to start providing for yourself without having time constraints.

It is rewarding to be able to choose projects that interest you, which allows room for creativity. Along with picking your own projects individually, freelancing at a company gives you the opportunity of sharing the workload of one or more employees. When it comes to freelancing, there are many benefits ranging from expanding one's skill set and interests in their field up to having personal lives outside of work. Freelancers are also capable of making less money than they would if they were an employee because they don't get paid overtime whereas employees do get paid overtime.

I want to become a freelancer because it's valuable for both myself and my clients. Freelancers are valuable to their employers, because they offer valuable skillsets that not everybody can provide. It also means employers don't have to worry about the potential legal liabilities of employing somebody, which saves them time and money. On the other hand freelancers are also valuable, as they often work on their own terms, which is ideal for many professionals looking for flexibility in how they balance their professional life with other commitments.

Why do you want to become a freelancer? If you want to be successful as a freelancer, it's important that you recognize that there are two kinds of freelance work. The first is the kind where clients create assignments for workers following previous guidelines. This type of work doesn't require any special skills other than being efficient, intelligent, and reliable. The second type of freelance work is more about selling an idea or project to potential clients. You'll need specialized skills in order to land these jobs, but they do come with significantly higher financial rewards--so the tradeoff may be worth it if your unique skills are marketable.
