    First, figure out what you're really good at. You want to capitalize on your strengths and that might require some reconnaissance work before you jump in. Once you do, the Internet is a great resource for finding freelance jobs. Look for local listings on craigslist or try posting yourself with cl like elance or odesk. Beware of scams though! You can also try your luck with daily-deal sites like Groupon (although the competition there is high). Keep an email list of clients for when things quiet down; they may come back to you later when they need more work done! Google "advertising ideas" for other sources of money making opportunities - be creative!
