    Becoming a freelancer is easy. All you need to do it register with one of the online freelance websites or any other similar sites. Then create an account, write out your profile and set your pricing accordingly. Make sure that while creating your profile, you list all the relevant skills and experiences you have so people know what they are getting in to before hiring you for their projects. The whole process should not take more than 5 minutes! After that, the next step would be waiting for clients to contact or hire you. This takes time but if done right will get lucrative returns! So how long will it take?

    That all depends on what your freelancing. If you're a programmer for example, it might be wise to go through some of the renowned tutorials available such as MIT courseware and find out what is making programming such a lucrative profession these days. If you'd like to make money from composing or singing, there are many ways in which people may do so including university parodies and karaoke videos. What's important is that if you're serious about making the most amount of money possible with talent and engaging in passionate work (doing something that we love), then we must always ask ourselves why? Does this really provide me with the energy I need right now?

You can get around this requirement with projects, but it'll be much easier for you if you already have your own site, selling the work you've done in the past. -Next, meander through various freelancing sites and look for ones where there are people who need help in areas close to what you specialize in--do this enough until people start finding their way back to you with projects! -Work on your rates -- having higher rates should give clients more incentive to take things further along with you.
