A virtual assistant is a service provider that does work, usually office or computer-based, remotely for others. The services might include running errands, doing research and other ways of saving time for their clients. Virtually all tasks that can be done from a remote location are suitable for being outsourced to a virtual assistant. Tasks of even the highest complexity can be handled by another human being if only they have the right tools and skills. In short, it's one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had, as I'm able to do productive work from my home on virtually any day on which my daughter is not in school or has an afternoon activity--all without foregoing quality time with her!

A virtual assistant services company provides you with a team of professionals who work remotely to help you with the day-to-day tasks of running a business or managing a household. Virtual assistants will do everything from stock inventory, purchase new supplies, create marketing campaigns, and keep your personal calendar up-to-date. What does it cost? The virtual assistant business segment is an exploding industry, with a projected growth of 20+% in 2016. It's a great time to get into the profession! Virtual assistants typically support team leaders over email or chat apps rather than working on site. They provide consultative services, such as data gathering from other sources and aggregating data from different sections of an organization for analysis purposes. In addition to administrative tasks like managing schedules and projects, they often handle more IT-oriented jobs like remotely syncing information from one app or file server to another.
