A virtual assistant is a service provider that does work, usually office or computer-based, remotely for others. The services might include running errands, doing research and other ways of saving time for their clients. Virtually all tasks that can be done from a remote location are suitable for being outsourced to a virtual assistant. They provide consultative services, such as data gathering from other sources and aggregating data from different sections of an organization for analysis purposes. In addition to administrative tasks like managing schedules and projects, they often handle more IT-oriented jobs like remotely syncing information from one app or file server to another.
