Virtual assistants are computer programs that can perform tasks such as word processing, email management, Internet research, and bookkeeping at the behest of the user. Programs such as Siri and Google Now can be programmed to perform specific activities in response to voice commands or touch inputs. They maintain calendars and usage logs so users may easily discover what they did for them during their time administrated. If a program malfunctions, no damage is done and it's not possible to lose any data since virtual assistants programmatically work through repeated file transfers between client and VPS servers.

Virtual assistants work by taking information from a person or task, filtering it through an algorithm to find an appropriate solution, and then sending the result back. Bot services like virtual assistants can greatly reduce our day-to-day workloads because computers have no need for breaks, lunch breaks, time off etc. All they need is information input so they can process it in their algorithms to filter out what you want/need and send the result back to you. Bots are also limited to one area of expertise while humans are not always confined within their assigned tasks because humans have natural curiosity that bots cannot provide.

Created by companies like Amazon, this virtual assistant is a robot that responds to your queries by doing all the work for you. Through voice recognition software this specific type of personal assistant system's features are continually updated and improved. It has become more complex as its different areas are prioritized towards meeting user needs. An example would be if you were looking for the number to another human resource service, but wanted contact info first before dialing. You can ask the smart phone Alexa app about businesses in a given area, then look up one of those business numbers directly on your phone with additional pertinent information included in an email or text message alert.

A virtual assistant does not have to go outside the person or business it works for. The assistant can answer questions, research things on the internet, set-up calendars and appointments, send meeting requests, email reminders about meetings and generally take care of everything you need. It operates in a similar way to Siri on your iPhone or Apple Watch. As long as the phone is connected by wifi or cellular network it will continue working even when away from home. This means that if you are out at dinner with friends, but forgot to email your significant other about an upcoming appointment tomorrow morning before leaving, your virtual assistant can send that email while you are sipping wine with friends! Technology is amazing!

The idea behind a virtual assistant is that it can replace you in many things. For example, if you build an app which uses the various features of the Google Assistant and speak to your virtual assistant as if it were a human, then your assistant can respond like a human too (using text or voice). Similarly, your virtual assistant could access all of the data from those apps and make recommendations to complement those apps; for instance, because you installed an exercise app on your phone and spoke to the virtual assistant about cardio workouts, then the recommendation might be to download another workout app that teaches Pilates.

A virtual assistant is a service that provides assistance with things outside of one's expertise. For example, a smartphone user who lacks computer skills might use a virtual assistant to remotely control the desktop at her office-perhaps starting a presentation or answering an email from home. It can also be used for more everyday requests such as calendar management, basic web searches and weather reports, playing music or videos on demand, making phone calls autonomously by using voice command software like Sirir, Cortanar, etc., and virtually any other request the user would make of an administrative assistant or secretary during working hours. Virtual assistants are often accessed through an app on whatever device they were downloaded onto.
