There is no set amount or percentage for this, as the hourly wage of a freelance web designer varies from one project to another. In general, freelance web designers earn an average annual salary of $41,000 dollars. This number is estimated based on information from some major surveys and polls. That means some might be earning as low as up to $20,000 a year while others may be earning upwards of $75,000 a year. Many variables go into determining how much a person can make as a design freelancer including specialization in certain areas over others and the size of their business.

How much do freelance Web designers make? This is an excellent question, and its hard to answer without knowing what you are looking for. If you are looking for someone to design a website for your small company or non-profit organization, then they will usually charge about $2,000-$5,000 depending on the scope of work. If you are looking for one to create an original site with custom domain name registration and hosting service included in that quoted price then expect anywhere from $5,000-$30,000+. Average web design rates range depending on your location in the US.

The range of pay for freelance web designers is enormous. You can design a basic website for as little as $25 - $50 using templates and installations from the ISP, but if you're doing something more advanced, like a blog or an ecommerce site, expect to spend at least twice that. For custom work designing a site from scratch with flash animation and SEO optimization, your client may expect to pay over ten thousand dollars. Income depends on two factors: how busy one is and the complexity of the project.

Generally, freelance web designers make an average of $30 - 65 dollars per hour. However, there are many factors to take into account besides the hourly rate that will affect a freelancer's salary. For example, how much work is already in their queue and when they were last paid typically impacts how much they get paid per hour. If a person is in high demand or has a lot of jobs waiting in their queue then they will often negotiate higher rates for themselves for the next job because this one might have been easy and quick to design compared with the long slog it was for last client. On top of that, some freelancers charge by project rather than by time which would bring us back to square one!

We don't currently have a way to provide a specific estimate of what a freelance web designer might be able to make on the site, but we do estimate that they'll be able to make between $20 and $200 per hour. One of the factors that determines how much someone will charge is their past experience and skills base. In addition to providing an hourly rate, many designers also offer flat rates for projects. And some designers pay or discount for travel expenses or request certain types of project work only.

It depends on many different factors. Of those, the most important is how much you want to make. The more money you want, the less hours you will be able to work and the more stress and competition it will likely cost you. This question is a tough one because there are so many factors that come into play including what kind of website design projects they accept, their skills and experience level with developing websites, marketable niche for your size of business, workload balance in your life outside of web design work (family obligations), current sales conversion rate on prospective customer leads, desired profit margins on web design services sold etc.
