    No. The site is up and running 100% of the time, 24/7. The duration of an outage can be as short as a few seconds or extend to more than 24 hours. It is possible that some residual downtime has occurred on an intermittent basis during periods where load on the system was low. We are working diligently to reduce these instances further with various optimization techniques, but our goal remains to provide reliable service for all participants in the marketplace, even during periodic surges of high demand which cause occasional spikes in load on our systems. If you notice any downtime, please report it right away so we can address the issue quickly!

    Utile work is up. The good news is that if Utile did go down, it would not be for very long because you could easily make the necessary modifications to the "code" yourself. The process involves downloading a copy of all of your project files, modifying them slightly to get around any blocks, and then uploading them back! Utile down? No problem! It's easy peasy lemon squeezy. Trust me. I used to run our web team before CS undergraduate students took over, which was when I realized the error in my ways! Anyway, here's how it works..

    Usually, they have server timeouts from 8pm-12am PST. A few times they've been down due to a problem with the servers so it is hard to say for sure whether or not it's up now without checking the website. Our best suggestion would be to reach out to them on Twitter and/or Facebook and they'll hopefully get back to you quickly with an answer! The only way a server could be down is if there was a power outage or some other event that made it impossible for people who work on the site (like their Technical Team) to login into the site.

Yes, it appears as though something is wrong with their hosting provider, although they seem to be actively working on fixing it as quickly as possible. It's also not clear how widespread the outage is; some people say that they're able to log in while others report login failures (which would indicate an issue on both sides of the login process).
