I've found that there's a couple options. One, you can search Google for opportunities by typing in something like "freelance writer jobs" and see what turns up. Two, you could sign up with a freelancer website such as oDesk or something similar if it applies to your discipline. Basically, these sites offer employers the chance to hire people for all sorts of different projects and tasks, meaning they're able to get work done for much cheaper than hiring someone full-time. Or three - try applying directly offline at small businesses who might be looking for freelance work because they can't afford somebody full time or just need a little help until their business takes off.

There are a few ways you can find work as a freelancer. One way to find your first freelance gig is by browsing websites like Craigslist, Freelancer.com, and Guru. There are also many job boards with listings for opportunities in everything from blog writing to web design. You can also apply for jobs directly on company websites or through networking events like Meetups in your area. Your last option is applying via personal connections--once you've landed clients this way it isn't hard to get referrals when friends of friends need help, too!

    ·          Find a place to publish your work - whether it be on Novel or at TechCrunch, look for blogs that will accept bloggers and that you like reading. If you blog about technology, offer one of the more popular tech blogs some posts. ·          Blog consistently and develop an audience; blogging isn't something you do for a day and then stop. Developing at least three or four blogposts is recommended before moving on to other platforms (unless they want original content specifically).

If you're looking for ways to find work as a freelancer, the first thing you'll need is a high-quality portfolio of your recent work. It should contain examples of all different types of digital artwork and typography - personal projects and commissioned pieces, along with detailed descriptions and photos of your recent work. If there's something missing from your portfolio (be it an example or photo), it could be that prospective clients won't hire someone who can't show everything they've done in the past few years. A strong portfolio will teach potential clients about what type of design suits their personality and mood, whether their website needs logos or brochures, etc.

Building a strong portfolio is one of the most important aspects of freelancing. The key to success in getting freelance work is to be proactive and show initiative. Try pitching a project you're excited about, or offer quotes for jobs that require skills that uniquely set you apart. Your network, whether it's your professional contacts or friends and family will play an important role in finding freelance work opportunities. Sites like Upwork can also be used to setup projects with clients all over the world. Always remember though: take time for yourself!

Another easy method is to simply keep your eyes peeled for hourly-wage jobs that interest you.
