Entrepreneur, designer, consultant, photographer. As a freelancer, you can work in any industry you happen to have the skills for. This means that freelancers are represented in every type of job out there--from barista to commissioner of trade."The freelance economy is growing at a pace that few companies have ever seen," according to Forbes' Maria Lamagna--even though it's mostly working class drone jobs being given up for this "gig" economy.

You can do anything from coding to writing or editing, all the way through creating a logo. The freelance world is massive and offers an incredibly wide array of jobs in pretty much every field imaginable. Whatever your skills may be, it's probably possible for you to find companies that have projects that need someone with those skills. It might not always pay well or give a consistent schedule but it allows you to spend time on tasks that are due when you're feeling most up for them instead of working in a job where commuting times make it difficult to focus or adjust your schedule when you need/want to reschedule something.

You can work as a freelancer for almost anything you can imagine, but most people find freelancing to be the best way to work remotely. Most of my freelancing jobs have come through direct contact with someone interested in hiring me, but there's also some that are found more easily on sites like Upwork or Taskrabbit. And if you're more into freelance writing your best bet is probably something like Elance or Write Jobs Online. The only limits are your own creativity and willingness to do the hard work it takes to get started (clearly, by learning how I made this lifestyle change ). Businesses are now more data driven, which means they are constantly looking for experts in various fields to help them collect, manage, and analyze the data. Freelancers are needed in industries including engineering, marketing, analytics, economics among others. For example a financial analyst might be engaged by an investment firm to figure out the market's next movements every day before 9am EST. Freelancing can also offer great flexibility as well as increase wages because freelancers often have the ability to gain clients that need their services on an hourly or part-time basis without being bound to one company with strong ties who may not always be able to meet your needs.

There are many options for freelancing work. You can do typical freelance jobs such as writing, designing, or advertising; you can also do skilled labor such as carpentry or construction; and you could even offer day care services. Be creative! The sky is the limit with what you can create using your availability and skills. The more specific these skills are to a person's career path, the higher priced service they might be able to charge for it too - i.e., a certified accountant trying to make some side cash may charge less than an audiologist would if they're looking for debt collection work because of their specialized skill set).
