Freelance business development can be defined as the act of designing newer, better ways to generate sales for your consulting business. Freelance business development may include working with consultants on strategies like developing blogs, new books, and other forms of content marketing or developing workshops. However, this is not all there is to understanding freelancing in general either. It's more than just creating some content and making some money off it.

The best way to describe freelance business development is that it involves creating expertise in an industry or market. That means you are prepared to take on clients within this sector, providing the services they've requested. Freelance business development can involve anything from entrepreneurship to consulting gigs, but it always comes back to building a personal brand and adding great value for your clients. More experienced freelancers often break into new markets by doing promotional work or blogging about their field of specialty within trade publications. For example, I've written many introduction pieces for other local businesses involved in sustainable design practices.

In a nutshell, freelance business development is the process of pitching both new prospects and established clients on the idea of hiring a freelance professional. Freelance professionals can be away from their desks for one-third to two-thirds of the time, often working from home or changing locations. This can make their "business" seem less active to potential employers who only see the employees limited hours in an office setting. However, it also gives them a sense of freedom and stability that they might not have had in a traditional job before giving up what was once a steady paycheck for uncertainty, which makes this professional level sound appealing when done right!

I believe that the answer to this question is straightforward. Business development refers to "everything an organization does, directly or indirectly, to enhance its current capability of creating value for stakeholders." You can think of it as business plus marketing plus accounting plus negotiation. The challenges are formidable, but there are also many ways in which organizations do business made possible by technology - for instance selling locally produced coffee through a mobile application instead of on a website - that made doing your job easier. Going freelance was not something that I had really considered before an hour-long conversation with my boss turned into me being let go two weeks later.
