    It is very difficult to manage all business details in-house. You need fresh perspectives and specialization in order for your business to stay competitive in the market. Freelancers are simply taking care of whatever needs (even immediate ones) your company needs without you having to hire an employee. There are work options like hourly, day rate, flat-rate or budget projects which give you much more flexibility too when hiring them or purchasing their services. The key for this question was looking at it form the perspective of a company that is not trying to grow individual freelancers but instead find individuals who can take care of day-to-day operations that might be cumbersome with just one person doing them all.

    An important success factor is to put in the time, energy and effort into meeting all of your clients' needs. It's also important to create valuable content, promote yourself on social media, and use email marketing campaigns for potential clients. There are many freelance websites like Elance or Fiverr that allow you to advertise your skillset for free or at a low cost. Sometimes I'll. post something valuable for the community with an offer to be my client if they need me next week..then I use LinkedIn's "Who's viewed recent posts" feature as my outreach list by connecting with these people through email after their read receipt goes off. The most valuable resource is word-of-mouth advertising.

    Money. Networking. Proper pricing. Marketing yourself. These are all major factors in leveraging any business, whether it be large or small, with the most important piece being price point. A freelancer who is not charging enough is taking advantage of his or her skillset to make less money than they deserve to make per hour / day / month / project for what they do for their customers - lowballing themselves in order to get more work on the books at a time during leaner times when they're woefully busy, which doesn't end up helping them in the long run if their customers flee cheaply-paid service providers for ones that offer better prices.
